About The TallGuy

I grew up in Neillsville, Wisconsin, a quiet town of just under 3,000 people, home of the world’s largest talking cow. I spent the 1970’s in college, and eventually received a BS with a major in Physics and a minor in Art.

My summer job during high school and college was doing construction work for my Dad’s company, Tesmer Construction. My first real job was with the Physics Department of the University of Wisconsin. For 6 years I was responsible for the care and feeding of a vintage 1950’s nuclear accelerator. From there I went on to spend 6 years as a Software Engineer at Noran Instruments, and then 6 years (is there a pattern here?) as Marketing Communications Manager and Webmaster for Heurikon Corporation now known as Artesyn Embedded Technologies.

In 1997 I struck out on my own and formed TallGuy Productions. As you can see I have broken the “6 year” curse.

tallguy-dobroMy hobby is music. Over the past 20+ years I have played guitar, steel guitar and Dobro in various bands inĀ  South Central Wisconsin, including The Black River Ramblers (with Dennis Lee), Stone Soup, KG & The Ranger, Good at Any Speed, Rosewood Moct, The Back 40s, Los Zombies, North Freedom Bluegrass Band, and Danny Paris and the ‘Shiners. I’m currently playing Dobro with Jill and the Jax. In 2002 I moved to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where I currently live with my wife Jill Kessenich and our dog Bailey.
